Membership discounts
Members of JHHR’s publisher receive reduced APC pricing. Because the exact reduction depends on the membership tier, see Membership for current rates and eligibility rather than a single headline figure here.
JHHR is fully open access and funds publication through a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC), billed only after acceptance.
Editorial decisions are made independently of ability to pay — see Editorial Policies.
The APC covers peer-review coordination, professional editing, production, DOI registration, indexing submission, hosting and permanent archival. Payment is requested only after your manuscript has been accepted.

Authors from World Bank-classified low-income countries are eligible for APC waivers; partial waivers are available for lower-middle-income countries based on demonstrated need.
Individual authors facing financial hardship may request a discretionary waiver. Requests are considered case-by-case at submission.
Payment is due within 48 hours of acceptance notification. We understand institutional payment processing can take time and will work with you to accommodate reasonable delays on request.
Concurrent submission of a manuscript to multiple journals is a violation of publication ethics. If a paper is withdrawn from JHHR after 3 days of submission in order to be sent elsewhere, a 30% withdrawal fee applies. Official withdrawal must be confirmed by the editorial office before submitting elsewhere.
The APC is only requested after acceptance — submit first, and we’ll invoice once your manuscript clears peer review.
