How JCCI records are found
A precise account of the identifiers, registration services, search systems, scholarly graphs and library tools through which JCCI content can be located.
Indexing, discovery and registration are different
JCCI reports each service according to the function it performs. The journal does not use search-engine inclusion, DOI registration or directory records as evidence of acceptance by a selective journal index.
Readers can verify individual publications through the article record and the journal archive. Where a DOI registration is confirmed, the archive links directly to it.
Identifiers and registration
- ISSN
- 2641-5518 identifies the Journal of Clinical Case Reports and Images as a serial publication. Verify the ISSN record.
- Crossref DOI
- Published records with a registered DOI use the prefix 10.14302. DOI registration supplies a persistent identifier and citation metadata; it is not a selective indexing decision. View registered records.
- ORCID
- ORCID iDs may be associated with authors and editors to distinguish people with similar names. ORCID identifies contributors; it does not index or evaluate the journal.
Scholarly search and knowledge graphs
Google Scholar
Article pages expose citation metadata that scholarly search systems can crawl and match to publication records.
Semantic Scholar
Records may be discoverable through title, author, DOI and bibliographic metadata gathered by the service.
OpenAlex
OpenAlex represents journals, works, authors and citations as a scholarly graph. It is a discovery dataset, not a selective journal index.
Direct web search
Server-rendered article titles, abstracts and citation metadata support ordinary search-engine discovery.
Open-access and library discovery
- BASE
- The Bielefeld Academic Search Engine aggregates metadata from open scholarly sources. Appearance there supports discovery; it is not a journal-quality ranking.
- WorldCat
- WorldCat helps readers locate serial and library catalog records. A catalog record identifies a publication; it does not imply citation-index coverage.
- Reference managers
- Structured citation metadata supports import into tools such as Zotero and Mendeley from individual article pages.
Digital preservation
This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.
PubMed Central deposit clarification
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS). Deposit of an individual manuscript does not indicate that JCCI is indexed at the journal level in PubMed, MEDLINE, or PubMed Central.

Verify a publication record
The archive preserves the journal's volume, issue, date, pagination and article-type context. Each article page supplies the bibliographic details available for that publication.
Crossref registration identifies and describes a publication; preservation maintains deposited article content. These are distinct services.
