Propose a Special Issue
The Journal of Antioxidant Activity welcomes proposals for focused collections that address important questions in antioxidant activity, oxidative stress and redox science. Researchers with relevant expertise are invited to review the proposal requirements and contact the editorial office.

Develop a focused collection
A proposal should explain the scientific question, intended contributions, guest-editor expertise and a practical timetable. The editorial office assesses scope, feasibility and independent oversight before a collection is announced.

Requirements before a call is listed
A proposed collection is not treated as active until its scholarly ownership, scope and timetable can be checked by readers and prospective authors.
- A defined topic. The proposal states a focused antioxidant or redox question within the journal's scope, including chemical, computational, biological, food, nutritional, pharmacological, clinical or population research as appropriate.
- An accountable guest editor. The call names the guest editor and provides a current affiliation and ORCID iD for verification.
- A clear timetable. The call gives a submission deadline and the practical dates needed to manage review and publication.
- Editorial safeguards. Submissions remain subject to the journal's normal independent review and decision criteria; participation in a collection does not confer an editorial advantage. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Evidence boundary
A future call must distinguish chemical activity, computational predictions, biological mechanisms, clinical outcomes and population associations. Models need appropriate validation, uncertainty and applicability limits; predictions are not experimentally established effects. Laboratory assay requirements apply where relevant. Reviews require transparent synthesis methods; protocols require a clear rationale and complete planned methodology and analysis. No assay result or prediction alone supports a therapeutic, dietary or disease-prevention claim.
Regular journal submissions
Regular submissions are accepted throughout the year. Authors should compare the manuscript with the Aims and Scope and follow the preparation requirements for the relevant article type.
Propose a thematic collection
A prospective guest editor may send the proposed title, scope, timetable, current affiliation and ORCID iD to the editorial office for preliminary assessment. A proposal is not an active call unless and until the journal publishes it as one.
